Ealing Primary Teaching School Alliance was established in February 2015. Castlebar School is the designated teaching school and has formed an Alliance with a number of mainstream primary and special schools. The Alliance has a number of Key partners including Ealing LA and its School Effectiveness Team. As part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system we are committed to developing teachers, support staff and headteachers, as well as contributing to raising standards through school-to-school support. Collaboration is at the heart of the teaching school model.

Our teaching school vision is based around 6 core strands:

  • Initial Teacher Training, including School Direct placements and NQT development and support
  • CPD – leading the professional learning and development of middle and senior leaders, teachers, subject specific and support staff across the alliance and beyond
  • Leadership development and succession planning
  • School to school support
  • Research and Development
  • Recruitment and deployment of SLEs, LLEs and NLEs

Ealing Primary Teaching School Alliance has a framework for school-to-school improvement and collaboration which is designed to improve the quality of teaching, learning and leadership in our schools and within the wider community.

Our shared vision is to improve outcomes for all children. We aim to provide high quality ITT and CPD, recruiting and training the very best teachers for schools within the Alliance. We deliver high quality CPD for teachers that are linked to improving outcomes for children.

We have a commitment to developing leadership at all levels, prioritising agreed CPD activities and evaluating their impact. We support preparation for all levels of team and school leadership through to headship and executive headship.

We aim to share existing learning and generate new learning across the Alliance and network of teaching schools through research and development.
